Privacy policy
This policy covers campaignleadmonitor.com, the website for Campaign Lead Monitor (“we”, “us”). The short version: we count visits and waitlist signups without learning who you are, we keep the details you type into the waitlist form only to contact you about early access, and we don’t use advertising trackers or cross-site tracking.
What we collect
Details you give us on the waitlist form
If you join the waitlist, we receive what you enter: your work email, and anything optional you add: your organization, your role, the markets you work in, and whether you’d try an early version. Nothing is collected from the form until you press the button to send it.
Visit counts from Google Analytics
Our home page uses Google Analytics 4 to count how the page is used: that a visit happened, that someone scrolled as far as the time calculator or the signup section, that the calculator was used, and that a waitlist request came in, recorded separately for each place on the page where you can sign up. These are counts of events, and they carry no details of their own.
Alongside them we record one coarse word for where the visit came from: “search”, “google”, “linkedin”, “x”, “reddit”, “email” or “partner”, where “google” means a click on one of our own Google search ads. That word is chosen from that fixed list in our site’s code. The address you actually arrived on, its search terms and tracking codes, and the address of the page that sent you are never sent to Google Analytics; a visit our code doesn’t recognise is reported with no source word at all.
Our site’s code never sends Google Analytics your email, organization, role, markets, the numbers you put into the time calculator, or anything else you type on the page. The calculator does its arithmetic in your browser, and what you enter never leaves it. Google Signals and ad personalization are switched off in our site’s code, so this data isn’t linked to Google accounts or used for advertising.
As with any request your browser makes, Google receives your IP address and basic browser and device details, which it uses to estimate things like your country and device type. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. This privacy page does not load Google Analytics.
Ordinary web requests
Our hosting provider, Netlify, receives the standard information every website receives when you load a page, such as your IP address and browser type, in order to serve it. The site’s typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser also requests them from Google. The site tells your browser not to send the address of the page you’re on with those requests.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by an identifier. They hold a random identifier and visit timing so a return visit isn’t counted as a new visitor, and by default they last up to two years. They are set only on the home page. We don’t set any other cookies, and no advertising cookies are set by this site.
You can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings, or use Google’s Google Analytics opt-out add-on. The site works the same either way.
How we use it
We use waitlist details only to contact you about early access to Campaign Lead Monitor. We use visit and signup counts only to see whether the site is working and whether people are interested.
We don’t sell or rent your information, share it with advertisers, add it to our campaign-lead data, or pass it to the campaigns or firms our service covers.
No advertising trackers or cross-site tracking
This site runs no advertising tags, retargeting pixels, conversion tracking, or social-media trackers, and it doesn’t follow you to other websites.
If you reached us by clicking a search ad, the ad network records that click on its own side, under its own privacy policy. This site doesn’t send anything back to it, and any click identifier the ad network adds to the web address isn’t passed to Google Analytics.
Who else handles your information
We use service providers to run the site and to manage the waitlist: for example website hosting, form handling, email, analytics, and tools for keeping track of the people we’re in contact with, such as a customer-relationship (CRM) system. They handle your information only so we can do the things this policy describes, and each does so under its own terms and privacy policy. The limits in this policy, on what we use your details for and how long we keep them, apply wherever your details are kept.
Today, those providers are:
- Netlify, which hosts the site, stores waitlist submissions, screens them for spam, and emails each submission to our inbox;
- Google, which provides Google Analytics and Google Fonts; and
- the email service that hosts that inbox.
Beyond the providers that help us run the site and the waitlist, we don’t share your information with anyone.
How long we keep it
We keep waitlist details while the waitlist is open, and for no more than six months after it closes. When that period ends, we delete them from every place we keep them, including our providers’ systems, our inbox, and any copy we exported.
Seeing or deleting your information
You can ask what waitlist details we hold about you, or ask us to delete them, at any time. Use the waitlist form on our home page with the email address you’re asking about, and write “privacy request” in the markets field. We’ll reply to that address, tell you what we hold, and delete it if you ask, including the request itself. Your request reaches us as a waitlist submission, so the form will show its usual confirmation.
Google Analytics counts aren’t tied to your name or email, so we can’t look them up by person. Clearing or blocking the cookies described above stops future visits being connected to past ones.
Why there’s no cookie banner
This site is for political consultants and vendors in the United States, and it uses only the counting described above, with no advertising trackers or cross-site tracking. We’ll revisit this if either of those changes.
Children
This site is for businesses. It isn’t directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If what the site collects, how we use it, or the providers we rely on change, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
